mobile.module

mobile.module is a high-performance library of functions which allow retrieval of a mobile device's capabilities from a MySQL database, populated with the comprehensive WURFL data set.

This allows website developers to create optimised mobile websites which deliver the best possible quality to each mobile 'phone or device with minimum development effort.

mobile.module is available in Perl/MySQL and PHP/MySQL flavours and retrieves device characteristics from a MySQL database in less than 0.001 second per query.

This demonstration shows 24 of the mobile device's key capabilities and then performs 1000 lookups on the "resolution_width" capability to demonstrate the execution speed.

The system requirements of the libraries are that the hosting ISP has MySQL available and either Perl or PHP (as appropriate) available.
